Coach Holly
Holly's coaching journey at BT’s began roughly 3 years ago. Initially joining as one of the first female members, she trained alongside Brett, who became both her coach and mentor. Naturally sharing her boxing experience with new members, Holly quickly became an integral part of our community. When the opportunity to join the coaching team arose, she eagerly accepted, diving into coaching Boxfit and fundamentals classes. Balancing a full-time job in Freight and Logistics, Holly has found a new passion in coaching, helping clients make the gym the best part of their day. She loves watching beginners learn and grow and being part of our fast-growing community.
Coach Kane
Growing up in a secluded shack in Kurnell with the beach as his backyard, Kane found freedom in motorbikes and surfing big waves. Introduced to boxing in his teens to learn self-defense, he faced challenges at school due to his weight and unique upbringing. After a few sidetracks, Kane returned to boxing, falling in love with its discipline and fundamentals. Meeting Brett at the start of COVID solidified his passion. Being part of Brett and Dave’s vision means the world to him, and he cherishes being a role model. Teaching boxing helps Kane grow every day.
Coach Cee
Celeste, known as Cee, idolizes Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali and fell in love with boxing for its emphasis on control and discipline. What started as a bucket list goal of having one amateur fight turned into five. Cee loves training people, especially on the technical side, and is passionate about helping those who need a little motivation and self-belief. Seeing the growth and improvement in her clients gives her the greatest satisfaction. A proud mum of three sporty boys, Cee is friendly, approachable, and always smiling. She's excited to be part of the amazing team here at BT’s.
Coach Ash
Competitive sport has always been in her genes. After playing state-level basketball for 15 years and coaching kids for 6 years, a change of heart post-COVID led to pursuing a lifelong dream—boxing. Since taking up the sport, Ash has lost 25kg and improved her mental health and overall quality of life. Boxing has taught her resilience, discipline, and control. This year, Ash returned to coaching kids, finding immense joy in their progress. Being part of BT's community and coaching team is incredibly rewarding.
Coach Mikey
Despite starting boxing as a secondary activity to rugby league, Mikey found boxing to be transformative. Playing rugby since age 4, he even represented South Sydney Rabbitohs. Boxing initially scared him due to breaking barriers and putting himself out of his comfort zone. An injury in his teens led to weight gain, but boxing helped him regain confidence. At 16, he had his first amateur fight, changing his self-view. Mikey now values the lessons and people boxing has brought into his life. His journey with BT's and coaches Brett and Dave has been a blessing. Welcome to the BT’s family!
Coach Paulo
Growing up in Brazil, Paulo’s first love was soccer, playing for top Futsal teams. Struggling with depression, he turned to kickboxing, which transformed his life, helping him lose 21kg and discover a passion for boxing. Five years ago, during COVID, he began coaching and found his calling in helping others achieve their goals. Since moving to Australia and joining BT's, Paulo has thrived in our supportive community. Outside the gym, he enjoys video games, watching soccer, and relaxing at the beach.
Coach Ella
Meet Ella, born in England and raised on the Sunshine Coast in QLD since age 7. She began her combat sports journey with karate, gaining discipline, a strong mindset, and confidence. After 9 years, becoming a second Dan black belt, and winning multiple national championships, she transitioned to boxing in 2016. Within a year, Ella won a Commonwealth Games gold medal and a world championship bronze medal as an amateur boxer. She moved to Sydney in late 2017 to train with Johnny Lewis. In 2021, she debuted professionally, and despite breaking her hand in her third fight, she won the Australian title. As of 2024, Ella has a record of 6-0, defended her Australian title, and won a WBC silver World title. Living in Cronulla, she trains, coaches, studies, surfs, and spends time with family and friends. Ella's mission is to inspire and empower women to be confident and pursue their passions.
Coach Zahn
Meet Zahn, our youngest coach at BT’s Boxing. Zahn’s passion for boxing is inspiring. He started at Minto PCYC gym, then started doing pads with boxer Ella Boot in the park, and spent hours watching boxing videos to hone his skills. Zahn loves being part of the BT’s family; as soon as he finishes school, he heads to the gym to improve. The support from everyone at BT’s means everything to him and fuels his motivation. Recently, Zahn started assistant coaching the Junior Jabbers classes, sharing his knowledge and passion with other kids. He believes boxing is far from a lonely sport, thanks to the BT’s community.
Coach Kendra
Starting as a competitive dancer and dance teacher, Kendra found her way into boxing under Losh Matthews, learning resilience and pushing her limits. Later, she embraced weight training with David Barker, achieving not just physical gains but mental growth. Kendra also loves capturing our journey through photography and videography. For her, coaching at BT’s is a passion, and she's excited to help you learn and grow.
